Lessons on Assurance
Leader: Pastor Pat Testerman
To assure is to "put beyond all doubt." Lessons on Assurance consists of five short studies on our assurances of salvation, answered prayer, victory over temptation, forgiveness, and guidance. Each lesson rests upon on a memory verse that helps us to grow in assurance as we meditate upon, study, and apply that Scripture. Through this study we also learn some easy ways to illustrate and pass on these Gospel assurances to others.

From Rebels to Heirs
Romans Continued
Leader: Darald Trinka
Romans offers a powerful presentation of the sinfulness of man and the righteousness of God; and that without mercy we are under God’s wrath. In Romans, Paul makes a powerful and blunt appeal to call rebels away from their idolatry to the just, merciful, and loving God.
As we continue into Romans (chapters 5 through 7) we’ll explore an interesting question, "As one who is right before God and lives in grace; as one who is freed from the slavery to sin and the law; how ought we live, especially when both sin and legalism still dwell in us?”
In the process we’ll unpack
- How our justification results in sanctification.
- How the Law is unable to free us from sin.
- How we’re able to turn our frustration with our sin into joy.
Surely you know the answers, but have you taken the time to slowly dig through Romans so that you will be transformed by the renewing of your mind?
Book: To encourage this, we will be using the Romans "Scripture Journal, study edition". This book contains Romans where each page has an opposing blank page to record reflections, questions, and thoughts. We will be working through Romans passage by passage.
Homework: The homework is to dig into each week’s passage and journal your thoughts; this will take an hour each week.
